Actuaries make financial sense of an uncertain and volatile world.
The future is uncertain and it is full of risk. Actuaries analyse the past to estimate and help manage risk in the future. We have traditionally provided advice to Life insurers, General insurers and superannuation funds. But our skills have proven valuable in other areas such as the energy sector and the public sector. We are also now starting to become more involved with other non-financial sector organisations that wish to minimize the effects of risk on their capital and earnings.
This section provides more detail about what actuaries do as well as, the role of New Zealand Society of Actuaries, its council and committees.
