Helen Mexted

Helen joined NZSA as its inaugural Chief Executive in April 2024. She is responsible for implementing strategic priorities to evolve, modernise and transform the profession. This includes bringing our members together to create a stronger member community and supporting our volunteers to improve the delivery of committee objectives. Her role also focuses on strengthening the value-add from the work we do as a profession, creating stronger impact and influence across government and in the private sector, and supporting strong governance.

Helen brings a fresh, diverse perspective from her leadership roles across government, in the private sector and within membership organisations. She brings people together, enables teams, and leads organisational excellence, transformation and growth.

Helen holds BBS and MBA qualifications and has studied strategic leadership at Oxford University. She is also a Chartered Member of the NZ Institute of Directors and sits on the Board of Crown entity, Herenga ā Nuku | Outdoor Access Commission.
