A review of the Society’s Code of Conduct and Disciplinary process has been underway for some time and we are now ready to share the proposed updates with you. It has been over 15 years since these have been reviewed and the proposed updates are aligned to current best practice.
The Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Process form part of the society rules and therefore a vote will be needed to approve the proposed changes. We are proposing to conduct this vote at the AGM on 13/11/22. There will be provision for members to vote by proxy if they are unable to attend the AGM.
We have attached a pack of information for you and welcome feedback on the following points:
- The need for a guidance note (and if needed a request for volunteers to assist)
- Reference to the term “public interest” and its applicability to the CoC and DP.
- The whistleblower clauses in 5.2 of the CoC

This is an important change to the rules of the Society and I encourage you to participate in the consultation process and provide your feedback to firstname.lastname@example.org by 7th October @ 5pm.
