The session will introduce the engineering perspective on natural hazard risk, highlighting where engineering and actuarial expertise intersect. Using examples such as the Canterbury Earthquake Sequence and the recently released National Liquefaction Model, the presenters will demonstrate how engineering insights are helping shape understanding of risk and resilience.
